Hachijojima: a tropical Tokyo island, 1 hour by plane from Haneda

Hachijojima is part of Tokyo but feels like another country: whale watching in winter, a walk round the Hachijo Fuji crater, and dark skies for stargazing. Fly 1 hour from Haneda or take the overnight ferry from Takeshiba pier.
