Pack magnetic hooks: Japanese hotel bathrooms have magnetic walls
Most Japanese hotel bathroom walls and room doors are magnetic. Bring a few strong magnetic hooks and string to hang bags and towels or make a drying line. Also keep shoes by the door at night in case of an earthquake.
