Prestia (SMBC Trust) locks your account the day your residence card expires
From August 2026 Prestia says it will lock accounts and cards one day after your residence card expiry, even during the 2-month renewal grace period; proving you're renewing unlocks it for just one day. Renew early and update the bank fast.
Check first: From a letter one customer received (June 2026); the rule wasn't on Prestia's website at the time. Unfreezing may take a week after showing the new card.
