What it does

A language-school option for learners who want scheduled lessons and conversation practice. Compare the teaching format and timetable with your own goals before choosing a course.

Coto offers in-person lessons in Tokyo and Yokohama as well as online study. The course range includes intensive, part-time, private and JLPT preparation classes. Evening or weekend options may suit someone fitting study around work; availability depends on the course and level.

The catch

Coto Academy’s FAQ says the academy itself does not sponsor student visas. It distinguishes its sister institute’s longer-term programs. A free consultation or level check is also different from a free trial lesson: the FAQ says free trial lessons are not offered.

Cost and plans

Lessons are paid. Fees and policies depend on the course and package; review the selected course and the FAQ before committing. Ask for the full cost, including any registration or materials charges, rather than comparing lesson prices alone.

How to get started

  1. Browse the official courses and decide between in-person and online learning.
  2. Submit an inquiry and arrange the consultation or level check described by the school.
  3. Confirm the course schedule, total fees, materials and cancellation terms before enrolling.
